About Me
I am a BACP-accredited integrative counsellor with over 10,000 clinical hours supporting adults and young people across the NHS, private practice, the voluntary sector and education.
My career began in the NHS as a hearing therapist, where I spent over a decade helping adults and adolescents adjust emotionally to head trauma, sudden hearing loss and cochlear implant surgery.
I later spent 6 years counselling adults and adolescents at a counselling charity, while building my private practice and beginning my work in schools and universities. Over the following 13 years, the bulk of my work was in a large comprehensive secondary school in Gloucestershire followed by leading the counselling service I established at a private boarding school.
Across this 24-year career, I’ve had a range of rich and complex experiences – from supporting clients with histories of abuse, trauma, depression, addiction and grief; working with clients through their gender transition; supporting families and parents to understand neurodivergence to being a group mental health educator in schools. I have experience establishing peer mentoring schemes and have done extensive public speaking to teachers and students.
